Virginia DC HFMA offers sponsorship opportunities to vendors in a variety of ways.  Some examples are: annual corporate sponsorships at various levels, sponsorship of local educational meetings, sponsorship of hospitality suites, and other individual events at multi-day statewide educational meetings.  For detailed information, select from the links below.

Facility-Based Education Program

Introduction

As providers, sponsors and members face financial challenges, the Virginia – Washington DC Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (VA/DC HFMA) continues to identify creative ways to ensure its members are receiving quality education at a reasonable cost, while still affording our sponsors with visibility and access to our provider members.  As a result, the Chapter Leaders have designed a program to enable our sponsors to bring education directly to our providers, in their own facilities.

Concept / Scope

The idea is to have our Sponsors commit to presenting various educational workshops on-site at the provider’s location. VA/DC HFMA would provide the forum for the connecting the facilities and the providers through use of its Website (vahfma.org).  On its Website, the Chapter would create an “Ala Carte” menu of educational workshops offered by the sponsors.  The facilities could simply click on a link to the specific workshop and be connected directly with the sponsor providing that training.  The sponsor and facility would then work out the details for the education to take place (I.e. date, time(s), locations etc.).  Periodically, or as often as necessary, we would need to update the offerings to ensure that the education is relevant and meaningful.

Logistics

For those sponsors interested in participating, the sponsor must be willing to commit to providing education at various locations, regardless of the size of the facility.  The Chapter will assist in gathering the information regarding the topic from the sponsors, ensuring that all presentations meet National Standards and that no workshops are identical, thus allowing us to offer a variety of educational opportunities to our members.  Interested sponsors would complete a “Call for Speakers” form, including a description and copy of their presentation/materials to the board for approval.  The Chapter would work with the sponsors to ensure that the workshops do not detract from the education provided at statewide meetings, so as to still encourage members to attend the meetings.  The Chapter would also facilitate the “Ala Carte” Menu Options on the Website, advertising to its members and coordinating evaluations/CPE calculations at the end of each event/session.  Participation is this program would thus require much collaboration between you, our Sponsors, and the Chapter Leaders, we which hope would be helpful to all.

Benefits

  • Sponsors gain additional access/visibility with providers across the State
  • Provider-members receive free education
  • Provider-members earn CPE’s for the workshops/educational sessions
  • The Chapter receives credit for the education hours provided to its members

This is an ambitious initiative but one that other chapters have successfully implemented.  The program is designed to be a “Win-Win-Win” for all involved!
