Originally called the Central Virginia Chapter, the chapter was renamed in 1957. In the same year, the Chapter reported that it held eight (typically all-day) meetings per year and that its bank balance was $121.25. In 1963, the Washington Metropolitan Chapter was formed, and the Virginia Chapter released the Northern Virginia area to this new chapter.
The Virginia Chapter has evolved over the years into an award-winning chapter with a membership exceeding 600 and a Board of Directors consisting of four officers and eight directors. It holds two three-day annual meeting conferences that are open to members and non-members. Multiple one day educational sessions, also open to members and non-members, are offered at different locations around the state. |
